Training

Training Programs

At SCREEN SPE Tech, new employees participate in training courses jointly held by SCREEN Group companies and training programs offered by different departments of SCREEN SPE Tech. Employees are also offered continuous learning opportunities through follow-up training after assignment to departments as well as through skills development and self-development support programs.

Training for New Employees

This training includes a briefing on the overall organization, plant tours, business etiquette training, intensive language training, lectures by executives, and other training sessions to help trainees learn about general work practices and common knowledge and rules that business people should know.

April to June
Initiation ceremony, joint orientation by SCREEN Group companies, department-level orientation, business etiquette training, and technology education course (at Hikone site)

These events help trainees to learn basic workplace etiquette and basic knowledge that all SCREEN Group employees should have.
Many of them take place outside the head office of SCREEN SPE Tech, giving trainees opportunities to learn about the SCREEN Group from a broader perspective.

July to September
Temporary assignment and start of job rotation

Employees are temporarily assigned from one department to another for a certain period of time to gain firsthand experience of various jobs at SCREEN SPE Tech.
As they rotate among different departments, their suitability for and interest in particular jobs are evaluated.

October to March
Interview, formal assignment, and follow-up training

Formal assignment is decided based on each person’s suitability and intention confirmed through interviews as well as informal talk sessions with executives.
Through follow-up training in the second year, new employees are expected to grow into valuable and responsible members of their respective departments.

Skills Development Program

Spoken English training (business English, business email, etc.)

External instructors will teach the basics of business English. Other support for the development of language skills is offered, such as allowing employees to take TOEIC tests at the company office and covering test fees up to once a year per person.

e-Learning (intensive online learning of necessary skills)

Our on-demand learning programs (e-learning system) enable employees to take any course they desire, be it on technologies, business skills, or communication skills, anytime, anywhere.

Training according to career levels (leaders, management, etc.)

Business skills required at each career level can be gained through career development courses designed for different levels, such as early career training, middle career training, and management training.

Education on ISO standards (environmental, quality, and occupational health and safety)

Opportunities are provided to learn about ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and other international standards closely related to SCREEN SPE Tech’s products and operations.

Support for specialized education and qualification (patents, robot operation, etc.)

We provide courses that cover the general knowledge SCREEN Group engineers should have regardless of their specialization or department, as well as opportunities to learn more specific knowledge, to help them enhance their engineering skills and obtain qualifications in each business sector concerned.

Self-development Support Program

Subsidies to partially cover the cost of correspondence courses and language lessons (at a school)

We support self-development of employees by providing them with subsidies for external training that suits their interests and career plans, in addition to company-designated courses relevant to their current jobs.
